Downtown Southern Pines: How To Spend The Perfect Day

One of my favorite places to visit, downtown Southern Pines is a historic downtown that continues to grow with many locally owned businesses. With many local businesses, here is a list of a few well-known ones for you to visit!

Swank Coffee Shoppe

Dining

Swank Coffee Shoppe offers some of the best coffee around as well as freshly baked goodies daily. One of my favorite places to relax while enjoying a coffee. They are located at 134 Northwest Broad St.

The Ice Cream Parlor is well known for its dozen flavors of ice cream and friendly atmosphere. They also offer sandwiches, burgers, and snacks for those who want a quick bite. They are located at 176 Northwest Broad St.

SoPies Pizza has been a part of downtown since 1991 and is well known in the community for its authentic, hand-tossed New York-style pizza. They are located at 137 W. New Hampshire St.

Betsy's Crepes is my go-to place for brunch, with multiple options of crepes, sandwiches, and different brunch items. The atmosphere of it is one of a kind with many unique art pieces on the walls. They are located at 127 SW Broad St.

Sunrise Theater

Activities

Sunrise Theater is a well-known area in the community, offering plays, summer camps, and even outdoor concerts. This theater will take you back in time, it truly is something special. They are currently showing No Time to Die with other upcoming shows soon. They are located at 250 Northwest Broad St.

Encore Center is known for offering high-quality performances and instructions in dance, theatre, and music for all ages. It is also home to the Carolina Performing Arts Studio and the Carolina Performing Arts Theatre Group. They are located at 160 E. New Hampshire St.

The Country Book Shop has been around since 1953, they are locally owned and operated in the heart of downtown Southern Pines, North Carolina. They have a large selection of bestsellers, classics, and many more genres with new books arriving daily. They are located at 140 NW Broad Street.

Shopping

Against the Grain Shoppe was founded in 2012 and began as a home base furniture and home decor company. They state on their site that they source 75% of their inventory from other small businesses also located in North Carolina! They offer unique and affordable home and gift items such as local pottery, artwork, hand turn pens, and etched glassware!‍

Casino Guitars is nestled in the heart of North Carolina, their mission is to put the right guitar in your hands. Many of their pieces are built from exotic materials and woods that have been hand selected by their team. Feel free to go visit them and relax as you scroll through the guitars and demos they offer.

Moore County Farmers Market can be found in Downtown Southern Pines on Saturdays from 8:00 am to noon from April to the end of October. They offer the community fresh and local produce such as fruits, eggs, pastured meats, flowers, plants, and even local honey! The markets are all producers only and are located within a 50-mile radius of downtown.
